Virtualized Infrastructures
Virtualization makes IT infrastructures more powerful and less expensive. It gives organizations a competitive edge through faster information processing; at the same time, it saves money on electricity, cooling, disaster recovery planning, and all forms of datacenter maintenance.
Of course, adopting virtual tools requires IT managers to coordinate a complex array of products and services. At Promenet, one of the things we do is help our clients virtualize without getting bogged down in the costly, time-consuming complexities of typical datacenter overhauls.
We’re able to do this for two reasons. First, our engineers are experts in virtualization. Second, we’ve worked directly with VMware to develop sophisticated, cost-effective solutions using the market’s most advanced virtual technologies.
Virtualization = Fast, cost-efficient datacenters
Virtualization pulls together the resources of separate pieces of hardware and consolidates those resources on a non-physical plane. In this way, physical machines can be redeployed as virtual machines (VMs), which are far more efficient and far easier to manage than their physical counterparts. Thanks to the great efficiency of VMs, a virtualized infrastructure can deliver much higher performance, using fewer physical devices, than a non-virtualized infrastructure.
For instance, prior to being virtualized, a datacenter might contain 16 physical servers. After being virtualized, the same datacenter might perform all the same functions using only 4 physical servers.
Virtualization sets the stage for exploiting future IT advancements
IT services are moving inexorably in the direction of cloud computing. When an organization integrates virtual tools into its existing IT infrastructure, it positions itself to take advantage of coming evolutions in cloud technology. Acquiring virtual capabilities makes it far easier for an organization to adopt new, powerful networking components—hardware and software alike.
Virtualization is relevant to all types of organization
Even before our collaboration with VMware, Promenet’s engineers were designing virtual solutions for organizations large and small, commercial and nonprofit, all throughout the NYC region. We’ve implemented virtualization in many different vertical industries, including law, finance, hospitality, education, arts, entertainment, and government.
